John boat caught in early morning storm capsizes

TROUP COUNTY, GA – An early morning john-boat ride turned into a nightmare for two people after heavy winds sent their boat underwater.

A man and a woman took the boat out on West Point Lake in the area of Horace King Park around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday when a storm passed through the area. The storm caused the boat to take on water and strong winds eventually flipped the boat over.

Pumpkin Destruction Day promises smashed pumpkins galore

THE ROCK, GA - This Saturday is Pumpkin Destruction Day, a signature event developed by The Rock Ranch, that allows guests to destroy pumpkins in nearly every way imaginable. Attendees can smash unsold pumpkins from The Rock Ranch pumpkin patch or they may bring their own to recycle through fun methods such as the pumpkin cannon, pumpkin bowling, the hammer smash and the 40 ft. lift crane pumpkin drop, among others.
