Troup unveils updated property record and mapping site

LAGRANGE, GA -Since the County’s new property record cards (PRC’s) were introduced online August 2009, the site has logged almost 130,000 visits and over one million page views in just over two years.  The online map site introduced a year later in Septemer has seen almost 24,000 since last September. 

“The online maps and property records have really provided a lot of convenience to our real estate professionals in the communty,” says Troups Chief Appraiser Dana Eaton, “and individual property owners appreciate the convenience too.”  The past couple of years have been challenging for programmers to keep up with changes at the state level, according to County officials.  Troup refreshes property record information about monthly to keep ownership and other information current, although values reflect the most recently approved digest – 2011 for now.

TROUP COUNTY, GA - Troup County Sheriff Donny Turner proudly announces a new upgrade to the Law Library made available to Troup County Jail inmates.


United States Supreme Court rulings in 1969 and 1970 affirmed the principle that access of prisoners to the courts, for the purpose of presenting their complaints, may not be denied or obstructed; therefore, making it a constitutional right for inmates to have access to an adequate law library (comparable to that of a criminal lawyer) for seeking court remedies and assistance in preparing their petitions to the courts.
