Boating safety course at West Point Lake

WEST POINT, GA - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at West Point Lake will conduct a personal watercraft and boating safety course at the West Point Project Management Office on May 15 and 17 from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.

The course is held at the Project Management Office and will provide information on legal requirements, navigation rules, preventing personal watercraft and boating accidents, and new boating laws.

Attend a boating safety course at West Point Lake

WEST POINT, GA - Looking to get out on the water? The US Coast Guard is partnering with the Corps of Engineers to conduct a personal watercraft and boating safety course .

You can attend the classes at the West Point Project Management Office on March 20 and 22 from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm EST.

Quail hunting season starts this weekend

TROUP COUNTY, GA - The forecast for Georgia’s 2011 – 2012 bobwhite quail hunting season is fair across landscapes with quality habitat. Georgia’s Upper Coastal Plain (S West, S Central and E Central GA) is the primary region with extensive bobwhite habitat and populations. Across this region incidental bobwhite observations on farms enrolled in Georgia’s Bobwhite Quail Initiative (BQI) indicated a decrease from 2010 levels, while annual fall covey call monitoring on select State Wildlife Management Areas indicated stable to decreasing bobwhite numbers.

TROUP COUNTY, GA - Headed to the big GA/FL matchup this week? State Troopers in both states are cracking down on drinking and driving. This PSA doesn't cover just the game, it counts for Troup County as well. No matter where you are this weekend, drink responsibly and let someone else take the wheel if you've been drinking.
