LAGRANGE, GA - The next concert in the Callaway Concert series will be on October 7 at 7:30.Ralph Stanley and his Clinch Mountain Boys will be performing. Ralph Stanley was born in Dickenson County, Virginia, where he still resides when he's not on the road. After 55 years in the business, he's still the best banjo picker and tenor singer in bluegrass music. As a recording artist, he has performed on more than 170 albums, tapes, and CDs. He's also written many songs himself and with his brother, the late Carter Stanley.

FORT BENNING Ga. - Tailgaters flocked to the parking lots, the smoke and roar of simulated tank fire filled the air, and the Silver Wings landed at midfield to kick off the opening ceremony of the resurgence of Soldiers on the gridiron battlefield. Yep, football was played once again Sunday at Doughboy Stadium.

The Fort Benning Doughboys started their five-game season with a 33-13 win over the LaGrange College Panthers junior varsity squad.

LaGrange College named a top 10 best college

LAGRANGE, GA - For the 12th consecutive year, U.S.News & World Report has named LaGrange College a top 10 best college and a “best value” in its annual evaluation of American colleges and universities.

In rankings released today, the college climbed one position from last year, placing sixth overall in the magazine’s listing of the South’s “Best Regional Colleges” and was singled out as one of 10 “great schools at a great price” in the 96-school category that stretches over 12 states. It was the highest ranked Georgia school on the top-10 list, and the only Georgia school included on the “best value” list.

WEST POINT, GA - West Point Police are looking for help in identifying these two men who burglarized the West Point Elementary School on August 31 in the early hours of the morning. The suspects broke a window in the rear of the building to get inside.
