Mothers Against Drunk Driving teaming up with Knology

WEST POINT, GA - Knology, a leading provider of cable, phone and high-speed Internet services across the Southeast and Midwest, will again join Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) for their annual “Tie One On For Safety” public awareness campaign this upcoming holiday season. In support of the national “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” initiative, “Tie One On For Safety” encourages those on the road to drive safe, sober and buckled up throughout the holidays.

Neighborhood Watch meeting with Troup County Sheriff's Office

TROUP COUNTY, GA - The Teaver, Fling and Newton Roads' Neighborhood Watch Meeting is tonight at 7:00 pm. They will meet in the Family Life Center of Teaver Road Baptist Church (215 Teaver Rd).

At the meeting, they will pinpoint crime in the neighborhood on TCSO's NEW Recent Crimes of Interest interactive map, discuss Holiday Safety at home & abroad and watch a 9 minute video on the Troup County Criminal Justice System.

Quail hunting season starts this weekend

TROUP COUNTY, GA - The forecast for Georgia’s 2011 – 2012 bobwhite quail hunting season is fair across landscapes with quality habitat. Georgia’s Upper Coastal Plain (S West, S Central and E Central GA) is the primary region with extensive bobwhite habitat and populations. Across this region incidental bobwhite observations on farms enrolled in Georgia’s Bobwhite Quail Initiative (BQI) indicated a decrease from 2010 levels, while annual fall covey call monitoring on select State Wildlife Management Areas indicated stable to decreasing bobwhite numbers.
