The U.S Army Corps of Engineers will be accepting real Christmas trees for recycling from Dec. 27 through Jan. 11.

TROUP COUNTY, GA - The Upper Chattahoochee River Keepers are sponsoring a Clean Water Fest at Yellow Jacket Beach on West Point Lake.

The party takes place on June 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

McGruff will be there and DJ Magic Mann from the Troup County Sheriff's Office will be on hand to provide the soundtrack!

Volunteers needed to check bluebird nesting through breeding season

WEST POINT, GA - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at West Point Project is seeking volunteers to assist with bluebird nesting box monitoring during the March to August breeding season.

Prospective volunteers should be available to inspect their assigned nesting boxes every two weeks during the breeding season. The Corps will provide data logs and maps to the locations of the assigned nesting boxes.

Prescribed Burning of Timberlands Underway at West Point Project

WEST POINT, GA - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced that prescribed burning of selected timber stands around the reservoir is underway at the West Point Project. 

Each winter, the Corps works with Forestry Commissions in both Alabama and Georgia using controlled burning to improve wildlife habitat on the public property surrounding the reservoir.
