Reward offered for information on fatal hit and run

LAGRANGE, GA - The LaGrange Police Department has offered a $1,000 reward for information on a fatal hit and run from Friday August 26 at 8:57 PM on Hill and Daugherty Street. When officers arrived they located one victim, identified as Max New, who had been driving a motor scooter, deceased at the scene. Police began an investigation immediately. They determined that New was struck by a west bound vehicle on Hill Street. The vehicle was a white 2002 or 2003 Buick Rendevous. There should be damage from the hit on the front driver's side headlight and fender.

Crime Stoppers looking for two missing Go-Carts

TROUP COUNTY, GA - Two Go-Carts are missing in Troup County. They were allegedly taken by an unknown individual from the shop they were stored at 50 Priddy Road. One of the Go-Carts is painted orange with "01" on the side. The other is just a frame.

Man arrested for setting vacant home on fire

TROUP COUNTY, GA - The Troup County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in an incident of Arson that occurred on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at approximately 12:15 am. Deputies were dispatched at that date and time to 272 Jim Turner Road (near West Point) in reference to a report of a house fire. Upon arrival Charles Duane Whited stated to Deputies that he had stepped outside his residence and walked to the top of a hill in his driveway. He reported that he noticed a light coming from a window of the vacant residence (at 272 Jim Turner Road).

West Point man arrested for selling cocaine

WEST POINT, GA - A West Point man was arrested yesterday for the sale of a controlled substance and possession, sale and distribution of cocaine. Cedric Le'mon Penn is a 32-year-old man. He was arrested on East 13th Street in West Point after an investigation looking into possible drug activity. 

Three arrested selling cocaine in West Point

WEST POINT, GA - Three people were arrested in West Point following an investigation into possible drug activity. Fyebo Keven Mwijuta, a 42-year-old man from Lanett, AL was arrested for two counts of sale of a controlled substance and possession, sale, and distribution of a controlled substance within the Housing Authority on East 8th Street. The drug Mwijuta was caught with was cocaine. The other two arrested were Dexter Felnard Shealey, a 40-year-old West Point man, and Marie Heard, a 46-year-old West Point woman. They both received charges of party to a crime sale of cocaine.

Troup County Crime Stoppers Report

TROUP COUNTY, GA - Deputies responding to a report of Burglary in the 600 block of Stitcher Road were told by the home owner that, on arrival she noticed that a screen on her residence had been removed from its place in a bedroom window. She waited outside as the Deputies cleared the residence.

After a quick tour, she stated that several items were missing from the home. Included were: A Fujistu camera and its case, a 35 mm Pentax camera, various jewelry and an amount of loose change. The home was also found in great disarray.
