Nine companies looking at opening up industries in LaGrange

LAGRANGE, GA (AP) - Authorities in LaGrange say five companies connected to the automotive industry and four others associated with other industries are considering operations in the west Georgia city.
    

Economic development officials say that's the highest number of prospective employers considering a move to LaGrange since 2006.

LaGrange Economic Development Manager Ray Coulombe tells the LaGrange Daily News that representatives of some of the companies have visited the city. Others have sent requests for information.

WEST POINT, GA - On Wednesday, Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, Inc. (KMMG) presented a donation to the West Point Parks and Recreation Department’s 16-and-under baseball team who will be traveling to the Regional Tournament in Viera, Fla. after winning the Georgia state championship.

“We are so proud of the accomplishments of this team and wanted to show our full support,” said Randy Jackson, KMMG’s vice president of human resources and administration. “Making it to the Regional is quite an accomplishment and we congratulate the team on a fine season.”
